90s Original Compositions Home-Studio Recordings

Note: The following songs are composed and arranged by Mark, and all instruments and vocals are played and sung by Mark except the sax solo played by Mike Elswick

  • Every Afternoon (Inspiration: naps on Saturday afternoons to softly swaying windchimes)

  • Satan’s Groove (Inspiration: evil people)

  • No More Room for Our Mistake (Inspiration: the premonition of a break up that eventually happened)

  • Suspended (Inspiration: there is no excuse or use for this song, other than perhaps the theme song in a documentary about a dodo bird that learned to fly)

  • Tell Me (Inspiration: a California girl)

Note: The following are interpretations of classic songs and are the result of being between relationships, having too much idle time, and/or inexplicable goofiness.

  • Free Bird Polka (what might have happened if Lynyrd Skynyrd had been formed in the rural parts of Germany in the 1800s by a trombone oompah band)

  • Free Bird Latin (what might have happened if Lynyrd Skynyrd had been formed in Latin America in the early 1900s by a bunch of unemployed trombone players)

  • Oh Holy Night (Impersonation of Margaret Thatcher singing while forgetting the words and going for the high note at the end)

  • Never Gonna Give You Up (A version of what Rick Astley’s song could have sounded like with a trombone solo and the trombone player playing and singing all the parts)
